BSA Hearing postponed for talks

Westsiders for Public Participation (WPP) has asked the NYC Board of Standards & Appeals (BSA) to act on possible zoning violations by the developers in plans for 808 Columbus and its slowly rising neighboring buildings.

Last week WPP and its allies won a court order for the Department of Buildings (DoB) to deliver to WPP the Department's "complete and final ministerial opinion of the legality of the proposed Columbus Village." With these documents now in hand, WPP can pursue its appeal before the BSA on all four zoning issues first raised by Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer in July 2007. (See earlier posts below.)

In the meantime, the originally scheduled Oct. 28 BSA hearing has been postponed to permit lawyers for WPP and those for the developers to meet on the issues on October 27th.
